[2] Sea:: deep water.
[3] Vessel:: a ship; a person.
[4] safe:: a strong box to keep valuable things. Simplicity:: a simpleton (OED 2c). safe:: a) no ship can be guaranteed free from damage, except a safe box sunk in the sea; b) only a dullard can avoid a wreck in thought.
