[1] Counterfeit:: indicating the Count of Monte Cristo in Alexandre Dumas' novel of the same name. Plated Person:: Edmond Dantes became very rich.
[2] I:: Edmond Dantes.
[3] strata of Iniquity:: different sin levels of Edmons' enemies.
[4] underlie:: his nature of revenge was behind all.
[5] Truth:: the truth recovered Edmond and freed him.
[6] meagre:: the time Edmond in dungeon. Exile:: the time Edmond cannot use his real name. (The story also involved Napoleon's exile in the beginning.) Lie:: not a true thing to Edmond.
[7] Vocal:: a voice, without much meaning when we die. Only truth and revenge were meaningful to Edmond, not a fake identity and richness.
