[1] Diamond on the Hand:: a mark of diamond (a sign of money) on the skin, a devilish mark. "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:" (Revelation 13:16)
[2] Custom Common:: alluding the vile tax or tribute.
[3] Subsides:: hides, from the public.
[4] Gem:: a capability to make money. best unknown:: since it's a mark of beast.
[5] Seller:: person with the mark is allowed to buy or sell. "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name (Revelation 13:17).
[6] sight and sigh:: the reaction after a great deal done.
[7] cannot:: many cannot do the business for lacking the mark. but are mad for fear:: but those with marks are mad (as a beast) for fear of.
[8] buy:: a good deal.
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. (Revelation 13:18)
