Sometimes-scalps a Tree-
Her Green People recollect it
When they do not die-

Fainter Leaves-to Further Seasons-5
Dumbly testify-
We-who have the Souls-
Die oftener-Not so vitally-

[7] We, have Souls:: herbs have no souls.
[8] Die oftener:: human beings die oftener than plants; nature-cure failed often.
