[1] Autumn:: autumn crocus.
[1, 2] Knitting, I:: a knit-wort, or comfrey.
[3] flamingo:: flamingo flower.
[5] Cochineal:: the cactus that the cochineal insect feeds; or cochineal insect for dye. Comfrey is prickly as cochineal cactus, and Autumn crocus a dye as cochineal insect.
[6] resemble Thee:: both autumn crocus and cochineal (the insect) are used for dyeing.
[7, 8] Border, resembling Me:: both comfrey and cactus are prickly. "Resemble thee" and "resembling me" hint at the answer.

The prickly comfrey is a beautifyl perennial plant, with reddish-blue flowers. It grows to a great size, and may be cut down several times in one season, as it throws out new leaves again, and shoots very rapidly when cut down a few inches above the ground. ─ Journal of the Wath and West of England Society (1855)

Anthurium Scherzerianum. This plant was exhibited by the gardener . . . It reminded one of the scarlet Flamingo, and might well be named flamingoides. ─ Journal of Horticulture and Practical Gardening (1863)

they are different plants: the colchicum is often called autumn crocus, which it is not in reality. The stamens of the flower of the real autumn crocus, of which there are several varieties, produce saffron; the root of the colchicum is used in medicine. ─ The Garden (1832)
