The sweetest Heresy received — Marriage

This poem compares marriage with Christianity, homes with churches, ritual and grace with consummation and responsibility.

The sweetest Heresy received 1
That Man and Woman know-
Each Other's Convert-
Though the Faith accommodate but Two-

The Churches are so frequent-5
The Ritual-so small-
The Grace so unavoidable-
To fail-is Infidel-
(F.671/J.387)
[1] Heresy:: a faith (with only two believers) unrelated to God.
[2, 4] Man and Woman, Faith, Two:: husband and wife.
[3] Convert:: as a marriage does to man and woman.
[5] Churches, frequent:: churches in the Christianity as homes in marriage. Christians should go to church often, and couples home.
[6] Ritual:: ritual in church as sex at home. small:: fine, as opposed to coarse (OED 10b) in church; incapable of large views or great actions (OED 20b) at home.
[7] Grace, unavoidable:: favor to one's spouse would become a responsibility.
[8] fail, Infidel:: to fail the faith or above things is infidel, not to go home frequently, without sex or responsibility.
