Our little secrets slink away — Offertory

Offertory, an offering or collection of money made at a religious service (OED 3b).

Our little secrets slink away-
Beside God's shall not tell-
He kept his word a Trillion years
And might we not as well-
But for the niggardly delight 5
To make each other stare
Is there no sweet beneath the sun
With this that may compare-
