Endow the Living with the Tears — King Richard III

In Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Richard the Third, Richard murdered many to reach the throne. The night before his failure, all the dead condemned him in his dream, a distinctive scene in the play. It's hinted in the last line, "Death's Ethereal Scorn." This poem is a curse on someone who breaks the heart of the living.

Endow the Living-with the Tears-1
You squander on the Dead,
And They were Men and Women-now,
Around Your Fireside-

Instead of Passive Creatures, 5
Denied the Cherishing
Till They-the Cherishing deny-
With Death's Ethereal Scorn
(F.657/J.521)
